Valerie Planche

director, actor, facilitator

Valerie is a director, actor, and facilitator working professionally in film, television and theatre for close to 30 years. Originally from Montreal, she studied at The National Theatre School of Canada, Concordia University and recently completed her graduate work, earning an MFA from the University of Alberta where she garnered a Graduate teaching Award. She is an actor, director and instructor.

A sessional instructor for the University of Alberta, the University of Calgary and Ambrose University, Valerie was invited to direct with the Birmingham Conservatory, Stratford Festival.

She has also been a regular Caitlans Way, and Honey I Shrunk the Kids prior to her five seasons for Blackstone. Other film credits include Burn Your Maps, It's Not My Fault, And I don't Care Anyway, InControl, The Right Kind of Wrong, Brokeback Mountain, In Cold Blood, Shanhai Noon and The Jack Bull. Television series include Heartland, North of 60, Terminal City and Tom Stone.

A graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada, Valerie recently completed an MFA with the University of Alberta where she was awarded an Alberta Scholarship and a Graduate teaching award. She is nominated for the 2015 Gina Wilkinson Prize.

Ms Planche has over fifty professional credits on stage as well as TV and Film and has won numerous awards and special recognitions.
